I’m Broderick — a NASM Credentialed Personal Trainer and the founder of Cardinal Fitness Systems. I came to health and fitness the hard way. I was active most of my life, drifted after college, and told myself the slowdown was just age — until a 2020 checkup came back with Stage 2 hypertension and bloodwork I couldn’t argue with. The internet sold me three easy steps that went nowhere. So I stopped chasing hacks, went to the books, learned how the body actually works, and started tracking instead of guessing. I got it wrong several times before I got it right. Years later and I am the healthiest I’ve ever been, and the things I changed were never a secret. It was a handful of basics, done consistently, long enough to compound.

What I’m here to do

Here’s the thing no one selling a shortcut will say plainly: the body works the same for almost everyone, and the information that matters is already out there. The problem was never a missing secret. The problem is the few changes that would actually help are buried in an avalanche of hacks and tricks that major in the minor. And sifting the signal from the noise takes time and attention most people can’t spare.

That is my job. I sift through this information because I want to be the healthiest and most capable version of myself. And I want to distill it into actionable behaviors you can easily implement. I am not here to turn you into someone else; the version of you that sleeps enough, moves well, and eats with intention is not a different person, just the same one with the guesswork removed. I am here to help you reinforce the base you already stand on, major in what is major, and become someone comfortable in their own skin.

I am not a doctor. My work lives inside training, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and the daily behaviors that compound. If something comes up that falls outside that, I am happy to refer you to someone who can help — and I am still here for the parts I can help with.

How I work

I start by discussing where you are and where you wish to be. I want your story, your day-to-day life, your constraints, and your fears. I don’t want to change your goals, I want to help how you achieve them.

From there it is identifying small, digestible changes we can turn into daily rituals. No overhaul, no white-knuckling a plan built for someone else. Small behaviors, tracked honestly and adjusted from what you actually did rather than what a plan assumes, compounded into changes that last. That is the snowball. My whole aim is to get it rolling and walk alongside it until it rolls on its own — from nothing, to understanding, to running your own optimization. The day you need me only for accountability and the occasional course-correction is the day my job is complete.

What you can expect, and what I expect in return

You can expect the information, openly. No gatekeeping, no holding back the good part for a higher tier, no pretending I am the only door to a result. No silver bullets, no guaranteed results in thirty days, no “one weird trick.” Those are sales tactics, not coaching.

In return, I ask for the work. This is an accountability agreement, and it only holds in both directions. I am pouring real time and investment into you, and I need you in it too — implementing, telling me what is working, showing up. If you are truly comfortable where you are, I am not your coach. If you are striving to be better and simply do not know the way, I may be exactly who you are looking for.

I don’t have all the answers. But I will have some of them. If that sounds like the help you are after, let’s talk.
